Our Story

Hello! We’re Elizabeth Austin Levoy and Adam Levoy, the creators of Strong Female.

We founded Strong Female to share the untold stories of inspiring women and raise money for organizations that provide women from underserved communities with the tools and resources they need to overcome life’s greatest challenges.

We both come from families filled with strong women who faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles without the support they deserved. Elizabeth’s paternal grandmother was a widowed, Black, single mother who raised her son in the racially segregated Jim Crow South. Adam’s mother was a Mexican American single mother who faced the prejudice and stigma of those labels while raising her three sons. Thanks to their sacrifices, and those of countless other women we consider mentors and role models, we now have the tools to help pay it forward.

We pledge to donate 100% of the profits from Strong Female to nonprofit organizations and we’re starting with the International Women’s Resource Center, which provides classes, resources and support to refugee and immigrant women.
